Turmeric Ginger Smoothie with Coconut Oil

Turmeric is responsible for reducing inflammation, while ginger aids digestion and offers an extra boost of antioxidant strength. To enhance its properties add pure coconut oil, which gives a dose of healthy fats.

Here is a turmeric recipe for this amazing smoothie.

Serves: 1 person


  • 1½ cups unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1 t coconut oil, softened
  • 1 t turmeric
  • 1 t ginger, peeled and chopped
  • 2 t pure or Manuka honey
  • 1 cup ice, optional
  • 1 t chia seeds


1)         Combine ice, turmeric, coconut milk, honey coconut oil and ginger in a blender and blend all ingredients on high speed until smooth and icy.

2)         Pour into a mixture chia seeds and stir well. Before drinking wait a few minutes to allow chia seeds to bloom slightly.

Additional Tip:

To make this smoothie more powerful, add these ingredients:

  • ½ banana provides potassium and adds fiber
  • 1 scoop of grass-fed protein (adds amino acids)
  • ½ cup diced mango adds vitamin C
  • 1 tablespoon grass-fed gelatin (a vital building block for healthy skin).
