These Detox and Recovery Waters Are Actually Worth the Hype

Detoxing with various beverages is a very popular way of giving your body the nutrients, and stimulating your digestive system to break down and digest food. As the liver is the most important detoxifying organ in the body, so it makes sense to drink a lot of fluids, enriched with fruits and vegetables to help it function at its best. Here is a list of detox recovery waters that can be incorporated into any detox program you’re following, or just enjoyed their health benefits.

  1. Watermelon Water

Watermelon water has become one of the most popular refreshing drinks, showing the best of the fruit with a high lycopene, vitamin C, potassium content, and of course, water.

As the watermelon is 92 percent water, this attribute makes watermelon a healthy choice. It has only 60 calories in 8 ounces. That can add up quickly if you’re not paying attention.

  1. Lemon and Cayenne Water

This is a specific drink, like little more than spicy lemonade. Combining lemon juice, maple syrup, and a bit of cayenne, you’ll get the drink that offers a way of health benefits except for a small amount of vitamin C.

  1. Cactus Water

Cactus water is made from the fruit of the irritable pear cactus, not directly from the cactus itself. Cactus water is rich in antioxidants

So you can try something new, you may pretty much be drinking flavored water.

  1. Coconut Water

This is an old favorite alternative to sports drinks. It contains a high amount of potassium and belongs to the supreme healthy waters. The source for coconut water is the center of young, green coconuts. Many people are flavoring it with everything from mango to chocolate.

Coconut water prevents muscle cramps because it provides adequate hydration and potassium. You can combine it with foods that contain potassium and sodium, such as a peanut butter and banana, or yogurt to help refill after a heavy workout.

  1. Aloe Vera Water

Aloe Vera water contains amino acids, minerals, vitamins and antioxidants that will benefit your health. However, even it lacks electrolytes such as sodium and potassium comparing to the other waters, it may be a refreshing alternative, too.

  1. Maple Water

Maple water brands contain all the antioxidants and minerals that the natural water contains, but there is little more sugar and 30 to 50 percent of the daily recommended amount of manganese.

Manganese is beneficial in blood sugar control, collagen production and bone health. Overall, maple water appears to be little more than water with sugar and a hint of maple flavor.
