Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA) and Calories

As there are two such categories which are widely misunderstood and misinterpreted, about the calories and RDA here are some information that will clarify you understand better.

Calories

Calories are the result of the generated energy by eating and digesting food, exactly the form of heat. The extra food, when we eat more than the body requires will be stored as fat.

As each body is completely different, it is difficult to speak about the averages or ranges. Calorie requirements are on an individual basis on lifestyles, activity levels, location, weather, stress, age, illnesses and metabolism changes. This is why cannot be actually said that someone needs to have a certain number of calories.

The biggest concern about unhealthy eating is the focused on calories.

Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA)

How much of which nutrient to have in a day is shown in certain standards. As for the calories here we have the same situation, that each individual is completely unique.

The nutritionist recommends a certain protein intake, but from one individual to another there are differences that are based on race, age, physical activity, etc.

It is the same with the RDAs for vitamins and other nutrients, however, it can make us very stressed instead of enjoying food, and we can be agonized about it. We all know that food eaten in stress or agony leads to incomplete absorption and digestion.

What is the Limit of Eating?

Having the discussion above about the calories and RDAs, it is clear that there is not exact fact how do we know how much and what to eat. The eating is not a separate activity from your personality, body and life.

Laboratory measurements can never show the real information about this issue. However, there are some well-advanced guidelines and rules for eating. Following them, we will always remain healthy and fit.
